Syed Amir Zaidi
Manager

“At the age of 41, It dawned on me that it was unlikely that I would be picked up by any Premiership Scouts, despite my obvious talent. Having already mastered Subbuteo, Fantasy Football, and Pro Evolution Soccer I decided to try my hand at coaching.

In seriousness, Football can help young people with health, confidence and teamwork. By learning growth mindset principles in sport, kids can apply them to all aspects of their life to become role models for the next generation.”

“I’m a father of 3 sons, two of whom have benefitted from training with SJFC since the days at The Hive.  I have always loved football even though I never had the talent to play it.  I came to the game late in my life and although my ability never caught up with those around me it never dampened my enthusiasm for the game, the desire to work hard at it and improve.  The lessons I gained in teamwork and the friendships you make through football stay with you for the rest of your life and I’m excited to be a part of this learning experience for our boys.”

“Glad to have taken on the role of player-coach, having been involved with the playing side of SJFC for a number of years.
SJFC has come a long way in the recent past – and I want to help propel it forward further by helping develop the players – both technically and with their love of the game.”

Sadik Merali

“Sport and competition has always been an important part of our community life. SJFC encompasses the spirit of our community by bringing together our boys in a sporting environment. I am proud to be part of this and feel passionate about getting the younger boys, whatever their standard, to feel part of this club”

Mustafa Muraj
Coach

“Bringing my 2 sons for SJFC Training each week and watching the coaches instil sporting skills and sportsmanship values in the children, I caught the coaching bug. Watching these young boys playing with excitement and free spirit is so uplifting and makes it such a worthwhile cause. SJFC is a brilliant community scheme for our youth, not only helping to develop football skills but also creating bonds and friendships that will last through the years and I’m proud to be a part of it.”

Over the last two years, the SJFC has gone from strength to strength but continued to be a local community football club. I am proud to be part of a set up that engages not just our community but also the wider community. and work with a team who are 110% committed on our journey. The team consists of 30 plus coaches who manage the training sessions rain or shine.

All this would not be possible without the boys and parents who play an integral part of the club – without them – we would not have the opportunity to serve this community club. The boys and parents can therefore be equally proud the part they play in the future success of Stanmore Jafferys Football Club.”
