Syed Amir Zaidi
Coach

“At the age of 41, It dawned on me that it was unlikely that I would be picked up by any Premiership Scouts, despite my obvious talent. Having already mastered Subbuteo, Fantasy Football, and Pro Evolution Soccer I decided to try my hand at coaching.

In seriousness, Football can help young people with health, confidence and teamwork. By learning growth mindset principles in sport, kids can apply them to all aspects of their life to become role models for the next generation.”

“Sport has always been my passion since childhood. Hence I have tried hard to instill this passion to my two boys.
By encouraging any type of sport especially football strengthens our youngsters to enhance there skills in teamwork, concentration and self esteem.
Therefore I feel privileged  to be part of a passionate and dedicated team in a healthy environment whom try hard to deliver the best for their community.”

Hassan Rashid
Coach

“I’m a father of 3 sons, two of whom have benefitted from training with SJFA since the days at The Hive.  I have always loved football even though I never had the talent to play it.  I came to the game late in my life and although my ability never caught up with those around me it never dampened my enthusiasm for the game, the desire to work hard at it and improve.  The lessons I gained in teamwork and the friendships you make through football stay with you for the rest of your life and I’m excited to be a part of this learning experience for our boys.”

Zain Bandali
Coach

“I want to give back to the community that coached me to be a better footballer and a better person. My goal is to do the same for the next generation of talent.”

I feel through participating in sport children have the opportunity demonstrate and experience personal attributes, such as grit, resilience, perseverance. These attributes are extremely valuable in today’s world and I’m glad SJFA is providing our youngsters an opportunity to gain and demonstrate these attributes in a safe and welcoming environment.”

“Bringing my 2 sons for SJFA Training each week and watching the coaches instil sporting skills and sportsmanship values in the children, I caught the coaching bug. Watching these young boys playing with excitement and free spirit is so uplifting and makes it such a worthwhile cause. SJFA is a brilliant community scheme for our youth, not only helping to develop football skills but also creating bonds and friendships that will last through the years and I’m proud to be a part of it.”

Raza Husein
Coach

“I’ve spent 10yrs+ volunteering as a Metropolitan Special Constable in Ealing borough and Heathrow Airport. Now it’s time to invest in my own community and what better way than to invest in our growing youth. Having 3 children of my own, I understand the importance of community involvement and physical development.

I believe sports is a fundamental way to keep fit as well as build life long bonds between the youngsters in our community. This is the primary reason for wanting to join SJFA as a coach.

I’m sort of hoping it will keep me fit too.

I am a champion for equal opportunities and the wellbeing for our children.  SJFA does this well and I’d like to build upon that.

I look forward to meeting your young footballer on the pitch soon InshaAllah”

“Vision for SJ kids: Just to come and play and enjoy themselves.  If we can win some trophies or medals along the way, then that’s a bonus.  Emphasis on enjoyment.
When I first came to this country in 1983 we didn’t really have a community, as the mosque was far and people lived all over the city.
Over the years, there was an effort made by one man to bring kids together through football.  He had designated areas where you could go and get a lift to Brunel University (our equivalent to The Hive), where we all played together.  Slowly we made friendships, and those friendships are still in place 30 years later.  So if one man could do this, then imagine what a team of people i.e. SJ can do for all.”
