Harrow Councillors Visit SJFA Training Set Up

On Sunday 28th January, SJFA welcomed Cllr Sue Anderson and Cllr Jeff Anderson from Harrow Council to our training session displaying our set up and activities. The approach was made and visit was arranged following the Muslim News article about SJFA success at the Asian Awards.

Cllr Sue Anderson said:
My role as Portfolio Holder for Community Culture and Resident Engagement at  Harrow council  includes sport and physical activity in Harrow. So I was delighted to read in “Muslim News” that Stanmore Jafferys had received the “FA For All” award at the Asian Football Awards in November.

Since then I have had the privilege of visiting a training session at Harefield Academy and could see how much the young people were learning. I could also see that the coaches and their charges were really enjoying themselves. I was pleased so many parents had volunteered to become qualified coaches and that the FA had provided support to get the club operating on the right lines. It is clear that all the effort put into this made Stanmore Jafferys a deserving winner of the award.  This is a shining example of effective community volunteering, and I’m looking forward to hearing more about the great work you are doing this year.

This visit once again illustrates the reach and impact our work is generating beyond the four walls of our community in line with the SJFA objectives of strengthening bonds with the wider community.

SJFA extends its appreciation to the guests for taking out valuable time from their busy schedules, especially on a cold Sunday afternoon.
