We would like to thank all the SJFA parents/coaches and most importantly the children who supported our Social Responsibility Program. SJFA are partnering with Sufra NW London who every year collects and distributes over 50 tonnes of non-perishable food to nearly 4,000 people in absolute crisis. These include a wide range of beneficiaries such as the mentally unwell, the disabled, carers, the unemployed, the elderly and low-income families affected by poverty. The Food Bank, which relies entirely on donations from the public, is the culmination of extensive partnerships with local charities, corporate sponsors, faith communities and youth organisations, who together ensure that no one in our community should ever go hungry.
During the training session on Sunday the 12th of November we had a number of parents and coaches who dropped off bags of groceries from the Sufra shopping list. Sufra has advised us that it was a success and that over 70% of the cars dropping off boys had donations and that they filled up half the van, approx 60 carrier bags and a few boxes.
As always we are humbled by ALL THE support we receive. Please do look out for the next collaboration on the 7 January where Sufra will demonstrate how to make smoothies and provider tasters for the children.
