SJFA lines up for the FA CUP

The first round of FA People’s Cup is due to kick off this evening with 7 teams representing SJFA over the weekend participating as follows:

  • U14 – 2 teams (Powerleague, Slough, Friday 24 Feb 6.30pm)
  • U16 – 4 teams (Powerleague, Watford/Bushey, Friday 24 Feb 6.30pm)
  • Adults – 1 team (Powerleague, Watford/Bushey, Sunday 26 Feb 2.00pm)

Run in partnership with BBC Get Inspired, the competition sees teams pit themselves against each other in regional stages to begin with, before progressing into a more national outlook at eight venues for the semi-final and then the Finals at PlayFootball in Birmingham this May.

There is People’s Cup action at over 150 venues, starting on Friday right through until Sunday afternoon.

The People’s Cup is now in its third season, having seen almost 70,000 players taking part in the previous editions, with the winners from each category of the finals in Sheffield all invited to watch The Emirates FA Cup Final at Wembley.
