SJFC – 1st Team Update

From the 2019/2020 season, Stanmore Jafferys Football Club (SJFC) will be joining the Seniors Herts County League. This Saturday league set up will be the pathway for our youth players as they graduate from the SJFA.

Approximately 40 SJFA prodigy/adults attended the first trial session on 13 July at Northwood. With over 50 players attending the next training session on 22 July there is clear appetite from the community to vitalise adults football and arrange regular training sessions with an experienced regular coach.

Over the next 2 months we will continue with trail/training sessions to determine the League squad:

Trial/Training Sessions:

  • Monday, 22nd July – Harefied Academy – 8.30pm – 10.00pm
  • Monday, 29th July Harefield Academy – 8.30pm – 10.00pm
  • Monday, 5th August – Harefield Academy – 8.30pm – 10.00pm
  • Saturday, 17th August – Northwood Academy – 9.30am – 11.30am
  • Sunday, 1st September – Northwood Academy – 10.00am – noon

The sessions will also determine the squads for the Unity Games held in Dubai in December.

The experienced external coach for the 1st team/Unity Team will be Ali Kamal.

Ali is a UEFA level B licence coach whose career highlights include Crystal Palace Talent Development Coach and Reading Development Centre and Talent Identification. During this time at the both Crystal Palace and Reading Ali has:

  • Organised and managed training programmes for the coaches to ensure they have the right skills and highest levels of training
