SJFC 1st Team vs Oxhey Jets Development

Stanmore Jafferys were looking to carry on their good form and put another win under their belt when they lined up against Oxhey Jets Development.

SJ got off to a quick start with plenty of chances being created especially down the right flank. However, SJ were not clinical enough until Murtaza Merali dropped his shoulder and played a cut throat through ball to Mahdi Hemraj who served up the ball nicely on a plate for Yaseen Valjy to put another goal to his tally for the season. 1-0 and it is fair to say the whole first half was one way traffic with SJ dominating.

A sloppy second half started with a mix up between two players leading to a chance for Oxhey, which ended up deflecting and looping over the keeper’s head, 1-1. SJ were still stuck in second gear and this resulted in a through ball and a fairly good finish by the opposition, SJ unfortunately found themselves 2-1 down out of nowhere.

It was time for SJ to pick up their performance once again and turn the game around. Some great work by Murtaza and then Rattansi lead to a shot on goal which was saved but still heading goal bound before Yaseen made sure the ball made its way into the net, 2-2. Some say the ball would’ve gone in even without Yaseen’s touch…only Allah and Yaseen know if this is true or not. Another great ball by Murtaza and Yaseen was through on goal again, he managed to head it past the keeper but it hit the post. Who was there to finish the rebound? Top marksman – Amirali Merali, 3-2. There was still time left for SJ to get another and this time it was through a penalty, and before you say it, no it was not Amirali who won the penalty. Great work by Yaseen to win the penalty and calmness and composure by Amirali to put the ball where it belonged, 4-2.

A very good performance by SJ, another win and the strikers feasting once again. Man of the match performance by Rattansi in the middle of the park (Kante would’ve been proud).
