We are pleased to announce to the adults football community that SJFC has entered team(s) in the brand new Middlesex FA 11-a-side FleXI League. The League is set to be launched from September 2019, with fixtures played on a Monday evening at Middlesex FA’s new Rectory Park home.
Flexi football leagues are being introduced across the country to provide opportunities to play 11-a-side football; whether it be for players that have dropped out of the game, struggle with regular weekend commitment – or just want to play football with less time and less fuss.
Many will be attracted to this format as playing fixtures will be less frequent, in a reduced time frame, with rolling subs and competing within a league that reflects players’ ability levels. Another huge bonus is that it doesn’t hugely impact on family time, or other weekend leisure activities.
KEY FEATURES OF THE MIDDLESEX MONDAY FLEXI FOOTBALL LEAGUE
- 60-minute games
- Played on fantastic brand-new 3G pitches
- Games overseen by qualified FA referees
- Two games (on average) per-month
- Cup competition to run alongside league fixtures
- Fair Play kit award presented at the end of the season
- End of season celebration event at Rectory Park
The league will be set up on The FA’s Full-Time website so all fixtures will be planned for the season in advance, with kick-off times set at 7.30pm and 8.45pm. Matches will be 30 minutes each way.
As we will shortly announce our full 1st team squad, the FleXI League will be the pathway for our Reserves and SJFA graduates as they look to fight for a place in the 1st team during the season.
This also means the seniors playing in the FleXI League will continue to train with the 1st Team and have access to Ali Kamal as their coach.
We look forward to sharing further details in the near future.
