SJFC U12s drawn against a string opposition in the Trinity Lions first round of the Cup. Boys arrived early in good spirits with the parents setting up the goals for the upcoming game.

After warming up, both teams were ready – SJFC started brightly with their usual high press, but Trinity Lions had more possession, moving the ball well without creating much. After two early breaks from Rayyan and Ahmad, Trinity Lions created an overload on the left and moved the ball well to score and go 1-0 up. They took control, and intercepted SJFC trying to play out from the back, 2-0 and half time.

SJFC came out fighting second half knowing an early goal would change things – great attacking play from both sides saw the game become more frantic – Ali making two great saves, one of them from point blank range. With 5 minutes to go, SJFC pushed again, pressing high up the pitch – Aadam putting their centre back under pressure, winning the ball high up the pitch. He drove forward towards their Goalkeeper (Their GK had been fantastic all day, acting as a sweeper keeper), knowing this Aadam chipped him from the edge of the box.. the ball hits the back of the net.. 2-1. With not long left, SJFC make one final push, throwing players forward but getting caught on the break concede a third goal to end the match 3-1 to Trinity.

Great game for spectators, SJFC played well sticking to their philosophy pressing high and playing out from the back. Three new players to the squad for this year all took part and have integrated well into the team. Lots more to come from the U12s as they continue to develop and improve!
