SJFC U9 vs Chalfont St Peter

STANMORE U9s rounded off their second season together with a brilliant 4-3 win away at a strong Chalfont side.

Noah Hussein’s hat trick came either side of an emphatic penalty from Muhammad Jawad Tejani as the squad put together a complete performance for a deserved three points.

What began as a cagey affair was only opened up with a wonder strike from distance from the hosts which flew over the excellent Ali Hussain Sumar.

SJ were quickly on level terms with a typically hit effort from Noah before a clever near post set piece routine put Chalfont ahead once again.

As the half approached, the U9s started to open up their game. While Danyaal Panju held down the midfield in the first quarter to stonewall opposition attacks brilliantly, Mehdi Bhimji excelled in his usual box to box role in centre midfield to drive the team forward.

With Tejani and Muhammad Moosa holding the ball up well, Hussain Dhalla showed typical flair to fashion two decent half-chances for himself which went just wide.

As the half time whistle approached, it took a long range free kick from Noah to bring the sides level.

The U9s were on the up, and took full advantage. With Zaynali Mohamed making some athletic saves in goal and a combination of Mehdi Lakha, Aliabbas Dharas, Hassan Alimohamed and Mohammed Haji controlling the game with brave tackles and smart passes out of the back line, it was up to the attackers to convert.

And that they did.

A trip in the box saw Tejani with the opportunity to put SJ ahead at a ground they have never won at.

And – cool as you like – he dispatched the penalty into the bottom corner.

Mahdi Kermali’s energy from the left-wing saw Chalfont struggle to play out, with the player deserving of a goal after seeing his follow-up strike from a clearance flash just wide.

More calm play across the pitch allowed Noah to grab Stanmore’s fourth with a lovely strike across goal with minutes to go.

A brief mix up at the back allowed the hosts to halve the deficit, but SJ held on for a famous win to close the season.

As if that wasn’t enough – they played another friendly game straight after against Chalfont’s second team, such is the desire of this team to improve and play more minutes.
